What Is Phishing?

Phishing is an attempt by a cybercriminal to trick you into revealing sensitive information such as:

  • Financial information
  • Personal information
  • Company data

These attacks are commonly delivered through email, text messages, or fake websites.

Warning Signs of a Phishing Email

Be cautious if you notice:

  • Unexpected attachments
  • Urgent requests for action
  • Poor spelling or grammar
  • Requests for passwords or sensitive information
  • Links that do not match the sender's website
  • Messages claiming your account will be suspended

Before Clicking Any Link

Always:

  • Hover over links to verify the destination
  • Confirm the sender's identity
  • Contact the sender directly if unsure

If You Suspect a Phishing Attempt

  1. Do not click links or open attachments.
  2. Report the email to your IT provider.
  3. Delete the message if confirmed malicious.
  4. Change your password immediately if you entered credentials.
